Sexuality Education Resource Centre (SERC) is committed to providing linguistically and culturally appropriate reproductive health and sexuality information to immigrants and refugees. To enhance information access in the immigrant/refugee communities, SERC provides quality translation services for written resources on topics such as:
- Reproductive health
- Sexual health
- Maternal/child health
- Orientation to the health system and other services
We do translation for brochures, booklets, fact sheets, posters, hospital/clinic forms, etc. All translated resources are written in "user-friendly" language and in a culturally appropriate manner.
Examples
The following are some examples of the translation projects that SERC has worked on in partnership with other health organizations in Manitoba:
- Cancer Care Manitoba - Breast Screening Program and Cervical Screening Program (brochures, consent form and questionnaires translated in 14 languages; bookmark in 21 languages)
- Manitoba Institute for Patient Safety (brochure and posters translated in 10 languages)
- Women's Hospital (breastfeeding fact sheets translated in 3 languages)
Rates
SERC charges reasonable rates for our translation services and a small coordination fee.
Extra charges may apply for complex documents and/or for languages that do not use the standard alphabet.
We also offer focus group testing for an additional charge.
Large projects will be assessed and contracts negotiated.
