The Sexuality Education Resource Centre (SERC) has worked in the community for 40 years. SERC operates two offices, one in Brandon, one in Winnipeg. SERC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

From its roots as a family planning agency in the 1930's, SERC has evolved to fulfill a much broader mandate. Today the agency acts as advocate, educator and facilitator on issues related to sexuality and reproductive health.

As a community-based, non-profit agency, our services and programs are designed to respond to community needs and issues. We work closely with numerous communities to help ensure that our response is culturally appropriate.

Sexuality Education Resource Centre is committed to equal access to health services. We provide consultation and professional training to health and social service professionals with specialized intercultural training programs.

Financial support for Sexuality Education Resource Centre comes from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, the United Way of Winnipeg and Brandon, and other donors. Anyone wishing to support the aims and objectives of Sexuality Education Resource Centre can make a donation simply by filling out our donation form and snail-mailing or faxing it back to us.

Content of most downloadable documents on this site is written by SERC staff educators. Some documents have been developed in collaboration with other agencies. All documents are produced using a thorough collaborative process of writing, peer reviewing and editing.

SERC staff educators come from a variety of educational backgrounds, including social work, nursing, and adult education. All have many years' experience working in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
